SUGGESTED
ROUTES
If travelling from
Melbourne, we suggest driving via the South Gippsland Highway
to Yarram then following the C484 and signs to the
Tarra Bulga National Park to our retreat in Tarra Valley
(18kms from T-intersection near the Yarram Hospital and St.Mary's
Primary School). This is the easiest route to our retreat but
also the longest. We estimate that it will take you around 3.5
hours from Eastern Melbourne.
If you do not mind
windy and narrow roads (towards the end of this drive), you may
like to try a route which takes you from the Monash Freeway
to Traralgon then on the Hyland Highway (C482) for
a few kilometres then turn right on to the C483. Follow the C483
past Traralgon South then turn right at Red Hill Rd
straight after the green concrete bus shelter. Turn right at the
T-intersection and follow past Mount Tassie (highest point in
area) then turn right at next T-intersection. Follow road past
the visitor centre at Tarra Bulga National Park and the
Tarra Bulga Guest House (road veers right past Guest House).
Turn left at next T-intersection which will take take you into
the heart of Tarra Valley and the Tarra Bulga National Park. The
road is narrow and windy here but sealed all the way. The drive
past thousands of tree ferns will take your breath away. Drive
for approx. 10 kilometres until you reach the Tarra Valley
Tourist Park. Our retreat is 1 kilometre past this caravan
park on the left-hand side. This route is quicker than the first
by around one hour but not for the faint hearted or people who
suffer car sickness!
